Paddle Dogs

Well, truthfully my sleeping mind came up with this species. they're really cute if you ask me.

Species: Necturus Perspicuus
Common Name: Fanned Salamander
Nickname: Paddle Dog

Senses: No eyes, but there are still shallow indentations where they would be. However, this lack of eyesight seems to be made up for by the apparent "six sense" of "knowing". For instance, even if though they can't see, hear or smell you they will turn toward you as if they feel the presence. Touch is sensitive, especially around the nose. Smell is also strong, thus they can be offended by certain strong scents. Hearing is average, though is enhanced when the neck "frill" is up. (This is due to sound amplification.)

Traits: Sharp, tiny claws tip every toe. Each foot has four toes and pads have a gecko like grip to them. Mouth is lined with cone-shaped teeth with slight serrations on the inside. Colors range all over. Most common are the natural colors but occasionally brilliant colors will be displayed for special cases. (Some Paddle Dogs have toxins more potent than others of their species and these individuals usually have bright colors of warning as decoration to their base natural color.) Webbed toes and their paddle-like tails enabled them to move easily in water around which the species is commonly found.
