Those are all good anime. Best in japanese of course. Im not finished with Trigun yet. You should watch DeathNote, Monster, Ouran Host Club, Ergo Proxy, Gankutsuou, Afro Samurai, Genshiken, and read the manga Iron Work Jan! lol. I hope I mentioned some in there you didnt know. Oh also read the manga works of Matsuri Hino... like MeruPuri and Vampire Knight.. shes an incredible manga artist. Some of those I mentioned are shoujo and some are shonen... I tend to read both with no regard. Although I only recently was introduced to real shoujo manga... jya ne! ^^

wow, thanks for the suggestions. I look into those. Shonen is the one that does Bleach correct? I haven't heard of shoujo but i'm not surprised. I haven't heard of a lot of things . I bet I can find all that stuff. Thanks again!

oh. let me explain since you didnt know... shonen manga is boys manga, generally violent and action-packed, and often filled with cute girls etc. shoujo manga is girls manga, more story-oriented, often romantic, with super-cute guys and happy stories. What I think you meant is that there are two magazines you can find in America, Shonen Jump and Shoujo Beat, one boy based and one girl based, obviously. Im going to suggest you definitely read MeruPuri. If you cant find it at the bookstore, look it up online. Its a must-read. Its only 4 books long, also. So you can work it into your budget. Thats a very shoujo manga. if youd like something a little more shonen, which I personally prefer, check out DeathNote or Genshiken. Both are good, very very good indeed. Oh, see, I didn't know that little fact about the names. I have heard of Shonen Jump, that's what Bleach is in. I like Bleach. I have read Deathnote. Kinda made me want to strangle Light, but it was good. I'll look into MeruPuri and Genshiken, I think I know of a place to find them online.

By the way, have you ever heard of ZombiePowder? If so, I really think they should start it up again. If not, it was a manga by Shonen Jump (I believe) that was started before Bleach, came out with 3 or 4 books and then they stopped it for some reason. It was really cool!

Alright, funny you should mention. ZombiePowder is the first attempt the artist of Bleach made at a manga. I guess it was so bad that it was discontinued. So no, its not coming back. I looked at it tho, and I agree with you.. it wasnt so bad...

You should check out Shoujo Beat too, since it seems youre a regular anime mag reader. Im not, I just browse and buy. but what suits you is fine too. I wanted to strangle Light also... and I havent watched all of DeathNote yet either. Id suggest Monster as a manga you should read, if you dont mind graphic violence with good plotline. Id recommend the anime only itll be hard to find. You could ask around.

Matsuri Hino is the artist of MeruPuri, and she also does a series called Vampire Knight. Its really good, if youre into vampires too. Either way I think its enjoyable.

Oh, bear in mind that Shonen Jump is just a magazine that basically advertises manga... they dont actually do the mangas themselves. If you like a series, pay attention to the artist or writer. Usually those artists become famous much later and go off on their own. Ive seen DBZ stuff in Shonen Jump... even though Toriyama Akira has been around for a long time. Shonen Jump tends to just show the new and upcoming manga stories. XP Jya ne! -L

To tell you the truth I only glance around too. If I find something I might like I read into it. Personally, I thought ZombiePowder was cool.
So far I haven't had any problems with 'graphic violence' so I'll definitely look into Monster and Vampire Knight.
I know about shonen jump from my friends. One gets them and brings it to school so we can read it. I usually just read the Bleach, though.

I bought a Shonen Jump, one time. It was for a short DBZ comic. I cant help myself... I have to admit Im a Toriyama fan... underground tho. Its good to have a source though, because I know some areas of the States dont really have much as far as anime, whether in bookstores or movie stores. Oh, one thing I cant believe I forgot to mention... that manga Vampire Knight is featured in Shoujo Beat, so if you want to check it out before you buy, take a look at that mag. You can just walk into a big bookstore and flip through it rather than buy Anyways! Its good to chat with you about anime XD -L
